Wait? You Bought a New Vehicle?
So, you bought a new vehicle. Now what? You want to keep it clean, bright, and shiny…
I get it. I just bought a new vehicle. I want to keep it amazing.
My friend, Kevin, owns Alternative Detailing. I have been helping him with infrastructure and back office because, when I was a young businessman, I needed what I am helping him with.
While working with him, I have had the luxury of seeing cars and trucks coming into the detailing shop with inferior paint, dealer ceramic coating that doesn’t perform, undercoating that doesn’t cover or protect everything, and more.

Don’t Assume “New” Means Perfect
When you sit in that finance office and they start presenting you options, it can be overwhelming if you are not prepared. And remember you are paying interest on the services!
I recently bought a brand-new Ford SUV. A lot of SUVS begin in the $40K range. Mine was $50K+ before negotiations. When I bought my Explorer, I told them the two optional services I wanted and that this was the price I expected to pay for them.
Some options related to car care and beauty often include, but are not limited to, all-weather floor mats (I purchased WeatherTech from one of the suppliers we represent, for less than I could purchase directly or online), paint protection packages including ceramic coatings, graphics packages, rustproofing, and upholstery protection packages.
Alternative Detailing Services does those services every week. Not once in a while. Just this week, multiple Wool Wax installations each day. Color correction, ceramic coating, wash and wax, and more during the week.
Dealership prep is often quick. The goal is to make the car presentable for delivery, not to give it a full detailing. That can leave behind water spots, dust, adhesive residue, and even fine scratches from rushed washing.
When a brand-new car still needs paint and interior protection
Even a new car can benefit from protection right away if you drive in harsh weather, park outside, or want easier cleaning later. (Welcome to New England!) Paint sealant, wax, ceramic coating, or paint protection film can help reduce the damage from everyday use.

Did You Know?
Kevin: “Fresh paint can be more sensitive than older paint in the early days after delivery, especially if the car has recently been repaired or repainted. That’s why I always inspect before I protect. “
And paint-thickness variation creates its own set of problems. (Kevin measures it all first!) Too much pressure on new paint and you are looking at removed clear coat and more.
Is your car black? Even more care is needed.

You just bought a new vehicle. You want to make it last.
Here is what I am doing with my new vehicle.
- Ceramic Coating- Opti-Coat PRO+ Ceramic Paint Protection – 7 Year
- For the Ultimate in Paint Protection: longest-lasting, highest chemical resistance, highest gloss, and easiest maintenance. Consultation required before service is performed. Service includes: Wash and decontamination, including tires and rims. Surfaces inspected. 1-Step polish and correction. Dual-layer, warrantied coating installed with a 12-hour curing period. PRO+ is semi-permanent protection and can last the life of the vehicle with proper maintenance and decontamination. (Recommended maintenance is a bi-weekly wash at minimum and annual decontamination)
- Leather Protection Opti-Guard Leather
- 5-year leather protection. Includes carpet protection. Opti-Guard Leather & Vinyl is a ceramic-and-acrylic hybrid resin that provides superior car leather care. Its hydrophobic coating, mixed with concentrated UV absorbers, promises car leather protection throughout your vehicle interior. When applied, it creates a strong yet flexible coating on your auto leather. Because of this, Opti-Guard Leather & Vinyl protects leather car seats and dashboards from early aging and cracking. It also prevents other damage, such as color transfer and staining. This protects both leather and vinyl surfaces in your vehicle. Opti-Guard Fabric creates a stain-resistant coating to protect fabric seats, carpets and other textile surfaces. When liquids contact Opti-Guard Fabric, the surface repels them without penetrating or staining the material. Opti-Guard Fabric forms a strong bond with the fibers to prevent removal during cleaning.
- Glass Protection-Opti-Glass PRO All Glass
- Opti-Glass Pro Coating chemically bonds to silica-based surfaces, forming a hydrophobic film that provides long-term protection to glass and other silica-based surfaces. Opti-Glass Pro promotes safety by increasing visibility during inclement weather driving. Additionally, it increases chip resistance, scratch and mar resistance, and protects against water staining.
- Wheel Ceramic Coating
- Protect those wheels.
- Wool Wax
- Wool Wax Lanolin Undercarriage Protection

That’s what I am doing. Have you bought a new vehicle? Decide to protect your vehicle. You spent all this money on a new vehicle. Do everything you can to protect its value.
